I got my first car three months ago and I hate it?

I m used to driving my dads 14 Corolla S and now I drive an 08 Ford Escape. How can I get over the change in car and driving? I m used to driving fast and merging quickly, and loving driving. Now I dread going anywhere because I have to drive slowly and the car burns so much gas. Advice?
