1994 Ford Taurus 3.8 won't start?

So my 94 Taurus with a 3.8 liter won't start. I changed the plugs, wires, cap, and rotor. It'll start and run just fine now as long as I keep spraying starting fluid in the intake. I changed the fuel pressure regulator because the diaphragm in that was bad. The fuel pump comes on and if I crack the bleeder on the fuel rail I have pressure. Any ideas? I had a small misfire the other day and then it just wouldn't start anymore.

Catalytic convertor stopped up?

I have an 99 ford ranger with 3.0L ff and its 4wd… Not that it matters if its 4wd. Anyways, it has set a lean code on bank 2 upstream and keeps bogging down and then picks up and takes off good. Now, I know I could just hook up a vaccum gage to upstream O2 sensor… Or for that matter remove it and see how it runs… But its rainy here and I have no inside garage to work in. So, just lookin for some opinions as this is my daily driver to the shop where I work. Also, as a side note I would like to mention that I hooked up my fuel pressure guage to the fuel rail and it held at 65-70 psi at idle and a consistent 65 psi at operating speeds… BUT if the vehicle is off and you turn the key to on position, the fuel pumps to 65 and then drops rapidly to 0. The fuel rain should be holding pressure. This leads me to think there may be a possible fuel pump issue, but again, the psi seems to hold consistent once the engine is operating. Soooo… I am back to thinking of the cat.

Help kitten from drugged house covered in fleas and more?!

I just picked up a beautiful ginger kitten 9 weeks old I had to wash him he stunk of pee his paws were filthy, he's covered in fleas I've never seen them so big! He's got yellow gunk coming from his eye he was scared of the owner who was selling them the house stunk of weed I've bathed him and used front line and hubby has gone out to get some dewormer but I can't a Ford all this:'( I wasn't expecting this I just wanted to save him amd look after him he was so helpless! I brought good stuff for his flea and wormer but what can I used to get rid of the fleas he's covered in them! And his eye is a little ***** where the tear duck is light creamy yellow colour what can I use to help him? Something around the house? I have called RSPCA to try save the others he's only been with me a few hours he's purring away not leaving my side and very cuddley unlike when he was at this persons house he seemed scared and tried to claw the owner from getting him I've done my best but what can I do about the fleas and eye?

Where is the oil plug and filter on my Ford fairmont 1997 EL?

So as you may have gathered, I'm not very mechanically knowedgable, and recently I've decided to change my oil, with the help of online tutorials. So I went out and purchased all of the required supplies I'd be needing (oil filter, trolley jack, stands, wratchets, filter etc). But my only dilemma which I'm now facing, is where is the oil plug and filter? I know it's under the car, but the online tutorials never specifically said where. If you post helpful links, suggestions or anything, it's really appreciated!

My 2002 Ford Explorer just started today making a dinging sound when the key is out and the car is off. The sound like when you turn the car off and the headlights are still on. It s stops for a few seconds or minutes but then starts right again. Please help.

Buying this 2011 ford escape vs 2014 ford escape?

Im in a lease with toyota and i have 1 more year left on the lease and i want to get out of the lease because im not wanting to keep the car. I found a used 2011 ford escape for 13,790. Its in great condition and only has 37,000 miles on it but again it is a 2011 car and its about to be 2016. The 2011 ford also comes with gap and the platnitum coverage of 75,000miles. I also found a 2014 ford escape for 19,990 and its used with just 9,000 miles on it. This ford comes with gap and a 100,000 mile coverage. I'm just trying to decided if i should keep looking for better deals or choose from one of these. Also i have a negative appraisal value from my current lease car which is around 4,000 but i think i can work that out or get it lowered.

1994 Ford Taurus won't start?

So yesterday it rained really hard here. I was driving in the rain and my car started misfiring but then went back to running fine. Today I started it and it ran for about 30 second then started spitting and died. There was no water in the distributor cap and it looked fine. I noticed a couple spark plug wires were moist and the rubber was ripped so I replaced all the wires. I started it up again and it ran fine for about 10 seconds then died again. Now it won't start and barely fires. Any ideas?

I have a 1997 Ford F150 and the instrument panel cluster fuse keeps blowing out. It started happening after I took my muffler off but I did put a new one on. I have replaced the fuse twice already in the past 4 days. Does anyone know what's wrong.

I know the 1.0L is an exception but I've been reading from Ward's and elsewhere that ecoboost branded engines are not delivering the fuel economy promised and expected from small displacement aluminum block/turbo designs. The same is said of stated power output for several ecoboost engine models. Perhaps the savings is in emissions?

It seems to have a engine/spark knock at idle. I can take off and it drives fine. Oil pressure gauge is normal. Car just had a fresh oil change and air filter change. Oil is motorcraft 5W20. Car has 111k miles on it. If I turn the car off, and turn it back on the knock goes away. No check engine light is coming on. Any help will be appreciated

Didn't know how to really word the question. We've had a ford explorer that stopped working a year ago and has just been sitting in our driveway ever since. 3005 ford 500 with AWD Malfunction?

Mine turned out to be the AWD oil pump, $900 at the dealer to get fixed. No regular garage or trans shop would touch the car, not even Volvo (It's a Volvo drive train, which should of never been put on that car at the factory). The trans is acting up now, and the cheapest estamit from a trans shop is $5000, which the car woldn't even be worth that after. My advise is to never by a Ford, they make crap.

I ave a 2007 ford ranger and recently when going up hills there has been a rattling noise that seems to come from the passenger side towards the engine or front of the truck. What could cause this? I also recently had an oil change, and they put 5w30 in instead of the recommended 5w20, could any of this be a cause?

94 Ford ranger should I buy for 800$?

It has rust repaired nicely on body, runs great, standard trans, but has NO power steering it is the base model with absolutely no extras and was bought this way. Tires are size 14. Wondering if I should pick this upnor not as I know very little about trucks and have never driven standard or without power steering but the price seems good for a truck and I need one.

2010 Ford Fusion SEL steering rack and pinion, should I replace?

I'm looking for a mechanic with some experience with this problem.

I have a 2010 Ford Fusion SEL that had a flat tire when my wife woke up in the morning. Filled the tire up and the power steering was gone, with a message that said service power steering now.

Got it to a shop and I am told it is the steering rack and pinion. This is an 2300 fix with a 3 month wait after labor, or a 1300 fix if I get one from salvage. I decided to go with one from salvage.

On carcomplaints.com there are several reports with this happening to other folks with the same car right after the tire goes flat.

Obviously I run the risk of it happening again especially going with the rack from salvage. What I don't know is how high the odds are.

Is this a computer problem that is causing certain Fusions' steering racks to fail when the tire goes flat? If that is the case I would assume it will happen again very soon especially if I get a flat tire.

Or do I have a good chance of it not happening again by replacing the rack because there is no possible relation? The mechanic I am working with says there is no relation but I find it odd that several people had the same problem right after a flat tire.

Why is it so hard to find the specific car image search I really need here damn it. Help?

Why is it so hard to find the specific car image search I really need here damn it! I was involved in a fender bender on a highway near me last Tuesday and since I haven't had an accident in over a decade, I completely spaced on taking a photo of the damage to the other car (only had his after market rear camera knocked off) and so now I was asked to find photos on the net of a 2010 Ford SUV type car (forget the model and the copy of his insurance info only lists "Ford", was a dark green Ford and the bumper color matched the car) and find the one with the same bumper (it wasn't like straight all the way across, it had like raised ridges or bumps, not sure how to explain it)… Any ideas for finding photos? I need photos of all angles but more specifically the REAR BUMPER… Any help is greatly appreciated!

I have a 98 Ford Explorer and I plan to buy four 6.5" component speakers for my doors. I was looking into JBL GTO638 s and want to adequately power them. What would I need and how do I hook it up? When I purchased the vehicle it already had 2 sets of speaker wire ran to the back. Could I hook the amp to these wires that run directly from the car battery and power my speakers with it? Recent car accident-rental car?

I was involved in a crash earlier this evening, I am 19 years of age, the other driver failed to yeild the right of way, and was listed at fault by the police officer. I have a ford leased in my name with my dad as the cosighner. My question being, my car is undrivable right now, and I work full time, does ford provide a loner car until my car is repaired even if I am under 21 years of age? If not what can I do. Its going to be about a week or two to repair everything, and I am unable to get transportation tonwork as well as transportation for my brother. I live in nys if that helps.

2010 ford fusion is vibrating really bad. Has 70,900 miles on it?

okay so here is the problem. My car is vibrating really bad when in idle and is in drive. If i put it into neutral its not that bad, if the ac/heater is off it still vibrates just not as bad. When I go to take off from a red light its vibrating really bad. Again if the ac/heater is off its not as bad but still very noticeable. You can tell when you go from neutral to drive even in revers you can tell the difference in all gears its vibrating and we looked at the motor mounts and they looked perfect. After you get in about 3rd gear its not vibrating at all. When taking off if it jumps to 3000 rpms its starts to vibrate if i start off slow and slowly start to move up in rpms it doesnt vibrate. Thats all i can think of right now if i think of anything else ill add more on to it

What's causing 25 amp start fuse interior in location 19 to blow on 2001 ford ranger?

I just change the timing chains on my 2001 ford ranger 4 door, 4x4, 4.0 L., automatic Trans. Truck ran great for a week. I ran to down yo corner and back pulled in drive the truck was idling below 500 rpm I held throttle open to 3000 rpms for 30 seconds let it idle back down it idled below 500 rpms ran rough then died I restarted then ran back up to 3000 rpm trying to blow the carbon out of the throttle body. Truck died again tried to restart truck doesn't turn over and the blows the 25 amp fuse in location 19 with the key in ignition and turn to the run position. Blows soon as your turn key to run before you start cranking.

Small Block Chevy in Ford Ranchero?

First off, this isn't any offense to Ford guys, I'm on a tight budget and everything for Chevy is cheaper. I'm thinking about getting this 1961 Ford Ranchero, chopped, bagged. It's really cheap but doesn't have a motor or trans. I don't know Ford's at all, but I know a lot about older GM stuff. And I have this 327 Small Block sitting in my garage with a TH350 trans. I'm wondering if the 1961 Ranchero can fit the small block Chevy and the TH350. And if I'd need to modify the driveshaft, weld in a crossmember to fit the transmission, etc. Thanks!

About six months ago I bought a 2005 Ford Focus zx5 from Jd Byrider, worst dealership ever! First off just wanna say that on the paper work it said the car had 99,xxx on it but it actually had 97,xxx I put together a time frame from times I took it to change the oil and taken it to the dealership to get stuff fixed, supposedly I drove 1,049 miles in just 18 day. The stuff that has broken so far, transmission was replaced 3 months after getting the car, a vaccume leak that would shut my car off every time I drove and the driver door handle has broken twice, just wondering if I can take any legal action, maybe the lemon law. Any advice is appreciated

Do I have to manually lock my Ford F-250 4x4 hubs?

I just bought a 2005 Ford F-250 King ranch. And this morning the grass was really wet and my back tires were spinning. So I put it in 4x4. And the 4x4 light came up on the dash. But the back tires were still spinning. So I just pulled forward and got a runny go in reverse and got out. Maybe I just didn't push the gas enough for the 4x4 to lock in? (I didn't wanna mess my grass up even worse and j was late for work). Or is it something with the hub locks? The writing is worn off so idk what they're in. Or what they say. How do the hub locks work? I know there is either a "lock & a free" or a "lock & a auto". What's the difference? And what do they need to be in full time and so I can just hit the switch and be in 4x4? Please explain! Thanks

Ford explorer towing alternatives?

So I have run into the dreaded issue with uhaul not allowing me to tow a tow dolly with a ford explorer. What alternatives do I have? I don't have abother vehicle with a hitch and I don't want to rent a truck. Im supposed to pick up a vehicle on monday and needed a tow dolly but I forgot uhaul wouldn't rent to an explorer owner. I just changed my Clutch on my Truck and I'm having some problems can anyone help?

So last week I was trying to get my car out the garage but then I couldn't change the gear. I was finally able to take the car to a mechanic and he changed the clutch but when I tried it out it's really hard to change the gear (I had to use a lot of force) and when I asked the mechanic why it's like that he said it normal and that in about a week it will be better / smoother but I don't find that convincing.
So can anyone help please!

I just bought a 2005 Ford F-250 king ranch. And since, for some reason there's no rear window defrosters. I really need the side mirror defrosters. It has the little "de frost" symbol on both mirrors. But this morning I had the defrosters on and the mirrors never defrosted. At all! Not even a little! What's wrong? I read since there's no switch to turn them on, it automatically comes on when using the defroster. I thought maybe a fuse is blown. But what fuse would it be? I looked online at the fuse diagram. 94 ford bronco with a e40d transmission wont go into 4th gear. Any idea on the problem?

The transmission has been staying in 3rd gear and it wont shift into 4th. It also tugs back and forth when it reaches 3500 rpm. It wants to shift into 4th but immediatly goes back into 3rd. Already replaced the vss and mlps. What else should i look into? Thanks in advance.

I never received the title of my car?

I'm trying to trade in my current vehicle for a new ford fusion but alas NO TITLE. I only have the registration for the tags and plates, which are in my name.

I've had multiple other dealers run the VIN for this vehicle through Carfax and didn't mention any active lien or anything like that.

What I'm scared of is there might be a lien on the title of the car I want to trade in.

I've already put the car I want on layaway and paid the necessary fees. I don't want to back out of this deal.

The old car was given to me as default for a deal gone sour with a dealer about 2 years ago who spot delivered me a car that they couldn't get me financed for. When I had to return the vehicle, they had already demolished my old car. Thus they gave me the car I am trying to trade in now.

Problem is the car dealer basically said i could have it for $1500. I said fine whatever i was exhausted and had a fulltime job to drive too. Which I made only two payments on, then magically they stopped. The payments were automatic.

I tried to call the dealer, no answer. They never called me when the payments stopped (a little over 9 months ago now) and my phone number has remained the same. No calls. No emails. No repossession notice. No anything.

So I think the dealer who took $3500 from me let me go.

I no longer have contact with that dealership and it has all but dropped of the face of the earth, if there is a lien on the title, how can I get it removed?

What causes a car to randomly catch fire?

So I was on the highway on my way home from work when I noticed a car on fire. It wasn't in a accident or hit anything just parked on the side of the road while the owners and the police watched helplessly burn. It kind of made me sad thinking what if that were me. Then I started freaking out thinking my car could do that. The car that was on fire was a newer Ford Explorer (like 2012-15 ish). That really made me freak out because I drive a 2014 Ford Focus. I know it could have been a lot of things but it made me terrified of my car for some reason (which is fine and not on fire).

2008 Ford escape won t start?

I got a new battery for my car and it cranked up all that day but not that night. I tried to crank it up and just the dash lights came on. I got it towed into my yard and was able to get in and gets things out of it. It sat there for about a month and now nothing happens. I have to use they key to manually unlock the door and absolutely nothing happens when I try to crank it up. No lights or sounds of any kind. The unlock button doesn t even work anymore. I tried to jump start it and got nothing. I did get sparks from the battery when I plugged the cables up to the battery. Is it the battery or something else

He told me the EGR is bad and it would cost $275 + labor to replace. He says that it has to do with emissions from the engine recirculating back into the injectors to recycle unused fuel. Will this affect the emissions testing?

Trying to start my car, all I hear is clicking noise when turning the key, what's the problem?

The car is a Ford Mondeo 1.8 lx 2001 134000 miles on the clock.

Over the last couple of days my car has been struggling to start. Today I jumped in only to find this issue (the clicking sound) I've just recently bought the car so I'm not too sure if it's the battery or the starter or even something else. If someone could shed some light that would be great!

when I got the car 2 days ago, I did drive it for an hour or so but it hasn't be driven properly since then. Could it just simply be a bad battery? If it's any help, the car was MOT'd on the day I bought it with no advisories. Thank you!

Driving with very small crack in head?

I think I may have a very very small crack in my head on a 3100 v6 between cylinder number 1 and the water passage. Slowly I notice grainy sand like stuff in the overflow tank with almost no noticeable water loss, car runs a tad bit rough and the coil pack that fires that cylinder did go bad but the car had 100k miles on it. I have a friend who has been driving a ford truck for years with a cracked head and he says he just adds a gallon of antifreeze every year. So the question is, is it ok to just not worry with it since it doesn t appear to be a big issue and head repair is expensive.

note, I have changed the intake gasket and no water is present in oil

Added (2). thanks everyone, I flushed the system very well when I changed the intake gasket then filled with universal coolant. I am going to check the plug, the coolant probably looses a millimeter after 500 miles, its so very slow. Car runs well but just doesn't idle like a new car, plugs and wires are new, crank and cam sensors replaced also MAF MAP and TPS, I will check the plug and if it looks good I will not worry
Added (3). car usually runs very cool oddly, it runs at the 1/4 mark but when sitting it reaches 1/2 but then cooling fan comes on and brings it down. I have taken 3 hour round trips in it and it seems to be trustworthy but would like to verify head
Added (4). due to the fact that the elbow hose blew, the car overheated and ruined the temp sensor, when trying to remove temp sensor it had been cross threaded and broke the intake so I replaced the intake and put the good quality gasket in. So the overheat has got me worried, it seemed to run a little smoother before.
Added (5). car never throws misfire codes which is strange to me, even when coil pack died and left two cylinders with no power, no codes, maybe first gen obdii did not test for this
Added (6). I replaced the crank sensor on the side of the motor that runs to the ign module, not the one by the crank pully

Truck lacking power feels like its missing but it is not?

I have a 1998 Ford F-150 4.6 v8, Automatic transmission. Started driving it this morning and it felt like the truck wanted to bog down. Had no power almost felt like it was misfiring but it wasnt that bad. When I put the truck in neutral it goes away and I won't feel what feels like a misfiring, but when I put it back in drive it will do it. Again when I put it in drive and drive it it feels power less and truck seems like it does not want to go over 2500 rpm at all. But when I put it in neutral I can rev it over 2500 and it doesn't hesitate. Could this be a tranny problem? I think the tranny is slipping. Please help.

Why is Ford Assets, Profits and Operating Income all down by billions?

This is why the American Economy is going down…

Because the workers are being Underpaid, Overworked, Under Represented, and to be quite frank with you… Abused, Even with the Improvements in Quality, I don't think that the quality of a Mercedes Benz (which would beat the purpose of an economy car like Ford), is the issue… I think that if Ford contracted with General Electric to produce its engines, and Lockheed Martin to produce the components… It wouldn't save Ford, or any other American car company.

Want to know why?

Because to be honest with you, there is a Public Backlash against Ford, I think people are Angry with Ford, and the people OF the Ford Motor Company have their heads stuffed so far up their azzes, that they don't get it.

They left Detroit and went to a Suburb called "Dearborn", and then they started using Robots instead of Paying people to use Power tools, And Importing inferior equipment from Mexico and China as if they don't care about our safety (which they don't).

So I think that ford can advertise how they own work, how their trucks are "Built Ford Tough", how much cleaner their engines are than what they used to be… Or how much power their vehicles have. It's not going to matter, because that isn't the issue.

And if the people that run the company had 1 iota of a brain… They would understand what they did to America… They helped to ruin the USA.

That's what I think.

Full size truck/SUV or mid-size truck/SUV?

I am car shopping. I live in southeast Minnesota so we see a fair amount of snow in the winter months. I do moderate traveling so fuel efficiency isn't my biggest concern! I just can't determine what is best for me, a full size pickup/SUV (F150, Silverado, Dodge Ram, Suburban, etc) or a mid size (ford ranger, Chevy s10, Chevy Blazer, Ford Explorer, etc). I don't do a ton of heavy towing but when I do I want to know my truck has more than enough nuts to do it. Somebody give their opinion to help sway me because I cannot decide for the life of me! I also intend to get aftermarket exhaust and I know V8 engines sound much better than V6 engines do when modding the exhaust so help!

I just got my first car a few days ago. It's a 1997 ford Mustang V6 automatic. With 199,685 miles on it. It still sounds and runs great. Very responsive, and has a nice growl to it. Has a nice "get up and go" feel to it. My question is, is it worth it to put in money for interior and exterior mods due to the high mileage? Or would it be better to wait a few months ( i can set aside 500-600 a month) to get another used mustang (preferably a 1994-2000 GT v8 with less than 100k on it. They run around 2-3k around here) and upgrade that?

What is making my truck idle rough?

I have an 03 Ford F-150 and starting about a year ago it was starting to idle rough while it was in park but now it does it when simply not moving. The rpm keeps jumping up and down and the truck vibrates real bad almost like it s trying to fight to stay running. If I let it sit like that eventually the lights dim and it does almost die. I have had plugs and coils changed 6 months ago but could it be another issue? Battery or injectors? Any help would be great thanks!

07 Ford Taurus engine revs up and down during idle?

This is what's vexing me

1. At idle start up, stop light etc, car sounds like someone is revving engine… Yes my foot is off the gas…

2. When turn on ac rpm go up and down even while driving and idle

Can feel vibrations in the gas and break pedal. Any ideas at lost of what else that could be wrong with my 07 Ford Taurus.

Cars check engine light isn't coming on and car isn't pulling codes for some reason we have tried.

Hello, I am in desperate need of a car. I am a 18-year-old girl. I sometimes borrow my grandmother's car, but now that she has a job it conflicts with my schedule; she also pics of a family friend's child from school around 330 every day. I have a part-time job, I also am A aspiring actress, but since I don't have a car I miss out on different gigs and also auditions. That's the career I am trying to pursue so if I miss out on opportunities they won't be any and I don't want to be stuck at my part-time job forever or just go to school for something I don't want to do. I really need a car just to get to regular places like my acting classes but I can't a Ford a monthly payment and I also don't have credit for even a cheaper but used car. So the main question here is there anybody in the Georgia area who has a car they no longer need or would like to get rid of? It would be great for me. I really don't don't know what other options there is for me and public transportation is a no-no or is hard to use in Georgia.

2008 Ford F150 making ticking noise when accelerating?

I have an 08 f150 100k miles and most of the time when I accelerate it makes a ticking noise. Its not quite a rattle, or a knock, but rather like one tick over and over when i accelerate. Very rarely I can hear it when Idling, but it doesnt sound right. I have had my mechanic look at it and when i brought it in it was working fine(of course). The oil pressurse stays solid at 1/2-3/4. I got the oil changed. Went from using 87 gas to91. Used 44k fuel cleaner and that seemed to make it better for the first drive afterwards. When I first got the truck it wasnt making this noise. It ended up having a camshaft issue and they had to replace it and thats when it really started. Just looking for advise to see where to start for this one?
Added (1). It was actually the cam shaft phaser that they had to replace.

1966 Ford Mustang V8 Conversion Using 1968 Donor?

I have a 1966 factory straight 6 manual
using 1968 v8 donor all complete.

Is this a direct interchange for the main portion of the swap? Engine and trans, power steering, brake booster, and rear end?

Looks like I need to change the bottom crossmember as the 68 seem deeper and also the engine mount brackets.

Any tips or heads up appreaciated!
Added (1). Here is a list of what I have done.
Changed 4 to 5 lug disc with v8 spindles
changed rear end to 5 lug
all disc all around
Added (2). 1968 has a c4 transmission with a neutral safety switch, not sure how to connect with the 1966 ford mustang manual body as it never had the wiring for the switch.

Issues with 2002 Ford F-250 Dash Lights?

i'm having a lot of electrical issues with my truck. A lot of the dash warning lights are on, but, so far, they don't seem to be affecting the truck. Here's a list of the issues I'm having:
- Anti-lock brake system light (intermittent)
- Emission system light (intermittent)
- Battery light (always on)
- Check gage light (always on)
- Door ajar light (always on)
- Engine coolant temperature gauge doesn't seem to be functioning
- When fuel gauge reaches a quarter of a tank, the truck is out of fuel
- Speedometer will occasionally jump around
- Cab lights inconsistent

I know that's a lot of things to be going wrong with the truck, especially if I'm not noticing anything physically wrong with it's performance. I'm wondering if this could just be an instrument cluster issue? And if not is there anything else that could cause all of these problems? Does anyone know of any simple ways I could check some of these systems myself to see if they're actually in need of repairs, or I'm getting false warning lights.

My ford has a problem with the windshield wipers not working at all, Windows don t roll down and the dome light doesn t work either. I don t know if it s just I have to change a fuse or two, or if I have to change the entire fuse box itself. Please help!

Should I keep my truck or buy a different car?

I'm 17 and I just got my first truck. It's a 1995 Ford F150 4WD (5.0 V8). It's sitting in the garage right now because I can't afford to register, insure, and fix it (it needs quite a bit of work). I didn't buy it. My dad gave it to me. I absolutely love this truck but, I think it'll use too much gas. I had my grandfather's truck for a few days and I think it got pretty decent mileage (Ford Ranger) but, I did have a lot of things to do and places to go (so I had to put gas in it a couple times). I feel like if I were to get rid of the truck and get something else but, I feel like I'd regret it. What should I do? The 4WD is nice for the winter. I really love my truck but, I feel like it'll use too much gas. I've been thinking about selling the truck (and saving up more money) and getting something more fuel efficient. Maybe like an AWD sedan. I plan on going far away to college and I'll need something with better gas mileage. What should I do?

Added (1). I noticed that when truck started that the wipers would up/down one time(but wasn't on)…, now not even work(I assume a fuse is blown)… My? Is am I possibly having some kind of voltage problem? I have been an audio enthusiast for over 25 yrs, good at installs,boxes etc. Kind of positive answers will be greatly appreciated(the switch has recently been replaced), I didn't have this problem before I put the new dvd/receiver in.

I have a 2000 dodge caravan and the rear heat works great but the front heat blows cold?

The blower motors all work fine, has new water pump and brand new coolant. The top vents in the dash blow lukewarm warm but if you switch it to defrost it comes out ice cold but the rear heat still blows super hot air. Coolant level is full.
I ve read about the blend door could that be the issue? Could a coolant line to the front dash be clogged? I m a ford mechanic but kinda stumped and have never worked on a dodge.

Why is Ford -150 a redneck vehicle in Western Canada?

I am a Fresh off Boat here. I watched a lot of movies when I was in Asia as a teen. So I always wanna a pickup instead. But why when I go to the car dealership. Two car salesmen told me almost identical. They seemed to be trouble that I wished to buy a Ford pickup. I told them it's safer and I love fishing and outdoor. One car salesman told me I need a Mercedes or BMW. Another one asked me why I need an old redneck truck? I have to google it. It means "poor white man". Another guy told me they have never seen an Asian male like myself drives a 90s Ford F-150. "dont you care about your images?" I felt offended. Why car salesmen think they knew me better after 5 mins?
Added (1). I read F-150 has the highest review and best selling pickup. Is that super weird for an Asian to buy a pickup? Why people think this is for rednecks only? That's just mind blowing. I know a lot of Asians sure drive a German car. But they are useless in my part of Canada. Cant do anything during the snow or tow stuff.

Power steering pump issues?

the power steering pump on my 2001 ford focus seems to have a small leak around where the pulley and shaft is. Also when I took the serp belt off the pulley it doesn't want to turn freely and is kinda stiff, could it being stiff make the serp belt squeak when I start the car? Is my power steering pump going bad?

Bought a recalled vehicle, now what?

I recently purchased a used 2010 ford escape from a FORD dealership with a warranty. Come to find out the vehicle has been recalled due to a power steering issue. I did see the carfax and the vehicle has had no previous accidents or anything like that. I've never purchased a vehicle from a lot before and am unsure of what is to come. Cars similar to Volvo s40?

I know they no longer sell sell them in the US. My 2004 decided 300 thousand miles was enough so it died. I would like to buy a premium compact car like Volvo but everything is too big. I mean I can drive bigger but I don't need the room my kids are old so roomy backseat is not necessary. A friend of mine suggested a Ford Focus Titanium which had everything and more than my old Volvo. Is that a good choice? Or is there a better option?

2008 mustang gt cam installation?!

Ok so I have an 08 gt! 5 speed. Next week I will buy the ford racing hot rod cams. And when they are installed. Do I really need the bama hand held tuner to tune the car to the cams? Or can I also tune it on the dyno?
I do have a diablo sport predator hand held tuner, but where and how do I buy a custom tune for the cams? And also when I called the shop they asked if i had an sct tuner. Which I don't i have the DS TUNER…

Suggestions for a small car with some towing capacity?

I'm looking for some suggestions for a small, fuel efficient, car that has some towing ability. I'm not the most confident driver hence why i'm looking for something small, but I also need to be able to tow a trailer carrying my sons dirtbike. The bike only weighs 80KG so it wouldn't be a very heavy load.
I've also seen various setups that allow a bike to be moved via a hitch mount which looks more ideal than using a trailer, but these have all been on larger cars.
Cars looked at so far:
Ford KA: Not allowed to Tow ANYTHING
Fiat 500: Not allowed to Tow ANYTHING (According to what i've read)
Toyota Yaris: Seems a little big:/
Can anyone offer any more suggestions?

Improper boost, have I damaged my truck?

I was boosting my truck a 2001 Ford F-150 with a presumably dead battery with a 2003 Hyundai Accent, the cables were connected properly to the Hyundai but backwards to the Ford. There was no large spark when I connected the cables just regular sparking, I tried turning the truck over and nothing happened so I got out to look at the cables and they were smoking at the terminals so I removed them, I reconnected them on the fords battery to the right terminals, got in the truck and it started, I removed the cables and the truck remained running, I got in the truck and the aftermarket reason was working along with the dash lights and the electronic four wheel drive switch. After letting the truck run for 15 minutes I turned it off and tried starting it again and it was completely dead. They Hyundai still starts and runs as it did before. I was wondering if you think I did any damage to the truck or if you think the batter is just pooched. This all happened two hours ago, thanks anybody for their prognosis.

2007 Ford Fusion stuck in park or neutral?

The car will start and I can remove the key. The shifter will shift into every gear but it doesn t engage at all. Just revs up. When I place it back into park it clicks loudly. It rolls in park and every other gear. When it is in drive and I Rev it the rom and mph gauge Rev up. Have no idea what it is.

Car Electrical Issue 96 Ford Mustang?

As I was driving home on the highway Sunday my electrical systems slowly died. The gauge indicated a very low battery charge. Once I eventually lost everything I pulled to the side, yanked my battery to charge it at Autozone and put it back in to get the car home before I put a new alternator in. With my now half recharged battery I made it back home. Tuesday I install a new alternator and the car drives around just fine and with a healthy reading on voltage. Unfortunately, this morning, as I turned my ignition the car made little to no effort to turn.

The battery is fairly new (about a year old), with no indication of bad terminals and Autozone acknowledged there were no issues with the battery when charging it. I m clueless as to what it is at this point. Any ideas?

Is a 2013 Ford Fusion Rear Brake Failure/Covered under Warranty?

I'm an Owner of a 2013 Ford Fusion with 18,712 miles on it. 2 weeks ago I (from the inside of my car) noticed a noise (grinding) from the right rear of the car but only while braking. Additionally while applying the brakes, it felt as if the cars brakes were engaging as if I was pumping them (I was applying steadily-increasing pressure). I immediately took the car to a nearby Good Year and paid $145.65 to have the car inspected, and they found that my calipers have seized, warped and destroyed my rotors and the brake pads were worn to almost nothing. Good Year assessed the cost to be $1,297.26 for the replacement of the brake pads, both calipers and both rotors. They advised the car not be driven.

My question is: Is this covered under warranty? My car has 18,712 miles and I've had it for less than 3 years. If not, than why?

Additional Information: Had to pay $300 for (SEP 28- OCT 6) a rental till the car was able to be seen. Received the car back today (OCT 13) with only the recalls fixed and the brakes still the way they are (CONFIRMED by ford AFTER picking the car up). Brings me back to my question, Are the Rear Brakes (Rotors, Calipers and Pads) covered under warranty? I believe this to be a Ford Fault and shouldn't have to pay to fix such a major issue at only 18,000 miles.

Not intended to sway people from buying from Ford. Just giving my scenario to receive the best answer possible. Thanks for the Help!

Issues with 1998 ford ranger starting?

MY car will randomly not start, i pop the hood and jiggle the negative wire and it will start to work. The cable is attaced tightly to the terminal, it's the wiring leading away from the terminal I have to jiggle. I was wondering if anyone could help me with identify the problem. I have a 2014 Nissan Rogue Select and when I turn off the ignition I lose power to the radio and anything plugged into the cigarette lighter ports. My 2008 Ford Escape let the radio play for 20 minutes and let things keep power/charging that were plugged in. I liked that feature and would like to see if its possible to "fix up" my newer car like that?

Are ford dealerships true to say that parts need programing to be installed?

I have a ford fusion that I bought as a repairable and the radio didn't work, so I bought a new one on eBay (the cd player) and now the radio and cd player works. However now my SYNC is not working. However I cat with ford and they think they know what it is but that it needs to be programed for the car. Like is that their way to say don't buy the part on eBay for half price then what we would charge? I mean the guy said that he doesn't see many plug and play parts in cars, but my cd player just worked when i plugged it in.

What is the Astra VXR like?

I have £10k, I want a new car, I'm 21 and I have all no claims since I was 17, I can get an 08 plate Vauxhall Astra VXR today for £6k. Does this sound about right or will the car be knackered? And how will it compare to my previous cars?
I've had a Peugeot 106 (1.1 litre 02 plate), Vauxhall Astra GSi (2.0 litre 02 plate), Honda Civic Type R (2.0 litre 53 plate) and I currently have a Ford Fiesta ST (1.6 litre 13 plate).

Car coolant very hot! It smells when i get out the car?

I have recently bought an 03 1.4 ford fiesta petrol. Everything was rosey until i went to the shop yesterday and when i got out all i could smell was coolant! I opened the bonnet and the coolant was bubbling and very warm to touch! Not scolding but hot! Ive checked all possible signs of a head gasket and nothing. The car its self isnt over heating its just the coolant. Thermostat in the car hardly budges. Can anyone help me out with what to check and how? Im limited to what tools i have but the garage are trying to charge a fortune!
