1999 chevy blazer 4x4,.3?

the engine blew up in my 1999 Blazer, it had over 177,000 miles on it and it spun a bearing! My daughter's boyfriend put another 4.3 in it with 88,000 miles! Is 88,000 miles a lot of miles for a 4.3? The truck is back on the road again and running good! I don't know a whole lot about those 4.3s! Until I got this Blazer I always had ford trucks! Thanks guys for your time!
