Will my Ford warranty cover the repairs I need on my vehicle?
I bought my car brand new from Ford in 2014. I am still under manufacturer's warranty as I have not reached 36,000 or reached my 3 year mark. The warranty currently will cover bumper to bumper. I was driving home and suddenly my car felt very strange to drive-the steering felt off-when I turned my music down I heard a loud grinding noise as I turned my wheel. With further examination of the car it looks like the lower control arm (I think that is what it is called) on the front passenger's side has snapped right in half. Very clean break. I did not run over or hit anything. I know that this part is something that SHOULD be covered under my warranty, however, last year someone hit my car in a parking lot while I was in a store and left. They damaged the front driver's side bumper, as it was no big deal I neglected to fix it because I honestly haven't had the money to fix something that wasn't affecting my car. Now I am nervous Ford will see the damaged bumper and assume I did something to the car and refuse to cover the cost of repairs. Any advice on how I can get my repairs covered as I do believe there was a defect in the part that has broken? I am not sure how to approach this when I speak with Ford.
