Honda Accord or Ford Focus?

Hi!
I am close to buying my first car. I was looking at 2002 Ford Focus for quite a while now, but i stumbled upon an 1999 Honda Accord and i kinda like it. Now i don't really know which one is better. Has anybody had any experience with any of these cars?
Where I live we can't afford newer cars, especially as a first car. Here most of us are buying first cars for a maximum of 2000 euros.
Any advice?
