Replacing a broken U joint in my truck?

So i have a ford ranger fx4 and i found that it has a broken u joint in the front drive shaft. I called a couple mechanics and theyre asking over 200 for parts and labor. I went and bought a u joint for 12 dollars and im trying to figure out how exactly to replace it but all the videos seem to be replacing the one on the rear drive shaft. And also they keep saying to mark the yoke before removing it but i cant find a clear video exactly showing where ti mark it. If mechanics put there could help me i would appreciate it. I dont know if i should cave in to the insanely expensive costs for a mechanic or if i should try and do it myself. Any advice would be great! Thanks
