I have a 2015 gmc 3500 crew cab dually dump truck. I just purchased a ford l9000 300 miles away. I'd like to just take my equipment trailer and go get it but I'm not sure if I'll be over my towing capacity. My trailer weighs probably 4k and the truck weighs between 12k and 15k. I've this truck can haul up to 19500 on the ball but, I'm not sure if its true. I know I will be over 26k but I do have a cdl. My truck weighs 10320lbs so I could potentially be close to 30k. I'm not registered for that much but, outside of that will my truck handle this ok? My trailer does have excellent brakes and is 20k rated. Also the truck is in NY and I'm in VT 277 miles one way.
