I have replaced the Idle Air Control (IAC) and the throttle position sensor on my 02 Ford Escape XLT (3.0L) . However, it still surges and I am unsure why? It will surge (literally trying to push the vehicle) when the car is just started and the engine is cold. This will happen only in drive. When parked in revs up. However, usually when it is warm (ran for some time), you can hear the engine revving up and down, up and down either in drive, park, reverse, etc. But, once the gas is actually touched in drives smooth regardless of when i started it or been driving for an hour on the highway. Any advice what you believe it to be? Also, I cannot hear a vacuum leak of any kind and I get no error codes on a code reader. Another note, there is a small oil leak that I cannot find (i don't believe this is the problem, however it may help). Finally, i am starting to think of the EGR valve, but it doesn't seem to stick or cause any problems that typically occur with bad EGR valves. However anything helps! Thanks for the advice.
