1999 ford f 350 super duty help?!

Hi I have a 1999 Ford F-350 super duty non- diesel. I just put in a new fuel pump thinking that was the cause as to why it won't start. I will go to crank it over as soon as my husband sprays starter fluid, it cranks over and tries to start and then
Stop as soon as it starts. The fuel pump did not help and my husband and I just don't have a clue what would keep it from starting. Any ideas?!
The battery is new, there is power to truck, new fuel pump, just put gas in the tank, but it has been sitting for about 1 -2 years.
