Can i test drive a car if i don t have my license with me?

i am thinking about buying a used 2007 ford edge from a small car lot. But i lost my license and the dmv said it would take 10-14 business days to get a new one. The dealer doesn t have sale people. It is just him and his wife whom work there and they are leaving for a 3 week vacation friday morning so i would like to get all this done before then. Will they let me test drive it without a license?
