Can my Ford Escape tow a pontoon?

My wife and I just bought a 2015 Ford Escape. It's the SE model. Has the 2.5L l4 engine. Automatic six speed with select shift. I'm looking to buy an aftermarket towing package for it. Some I seen online that was rated to tow 3500lbs with 525 tongue weight I believe.

My question is can this SUV pull a pontoon? Can it haul that sucker out of the water when leaving the lake? I know it doesn't have a lot of horsepower. But can it do it? I'm thinking of buying a 20' pontoon boat. Anyone else done this with this car before?
