Connecting trailer brakes to 2005 Lincoln Navigator with tow package?
i am planning a camping trip, only about a 25 mile drive with a 26' camper, hauling it with my Navigator. The weight of the camper, loaded, is below my tow capacity, so no worries there. My tow package came with a 7 pin connector separate from a 4 pin connector. The camper does have brakes on it and uses the 7 pin connector.
What I am trying to figure out is if, since it came with the heavy duty tow package, if I will need to wire in a brake controller, or if it is all included from the factory. Upon speaking with a ford dealer, this vehicle came with every option available, the tow package is not aftermarket, nor are any of the connectors. The concern I have is there is one downhill slope headed toward the campsite, though in the past I have just downshifted going downhill. The rest of the trip though is flat, nothing much in hills. Anybody have experience with this?
