What engines would work in a scion frs?

i d like to make a nice fast street car for myself instead of just buying a pricey car off the bat.

i really like the look of the scion but iv e often heard it lacks a bit in the power department so i d like to overpower it.

i was thinking maybe a ford or chevrolet v6, or even a dodge v8. However it is a boxer engine i d be trying to fit it to.

any ideas besides just super/turbocharging it?
