Where to mount a cobra 25ltd classic cb in a 2010 ford fusion?

I just bought a cobra cb radio, but don't know where to mount it. My car is some what small, it's an auto matic with the auto shifter in between the front seats. The only place I may be only to mount it is up on top of the dash where I have a flip up storage compartment. Where should I properly mount it and how should I wire it with out shorting out something or tearing up my car, my wife would kill me if I did.
