2003 ford taurus 208k miles torque converter went out what to do?

so im being charged $1300 to get it replaced and theres no pressure from thr torque converter will my tranny go out soon or what will happen? Im ar 208k miles this car is a 9.5/10 body wise and engine wise so i dont know if i should get the tranny rebuilt too or should the tranny be good if its already made it very close to 209k miles?
