2004 Ford expedition Fuse box problems?

My dad has a 2004 ford expedition and it stop working. The mechanic says he needs a new fuse box. My dad was told to get the same one with the same numeration and everything or else it will not work. But is it safe to put in the same one? I mean wouldn't it burn out again? Or do I buy a newer model? I need to no ASAP since he is giving me the truck to commute to school Thanks!
