How to make a '94 Ford Escort look cool?

I've been saving and saving trying to buy a VW but its taking too long and this lady just offered to sell me a god ugly '94 Ford Escort. I never thought I would buy one but its only $500! Just needs a tune up, how much are those btw? Its a two door, white no dents, it looks in decent shape, its just so ugly haha I want to fix it up but how in the world can you make a '94 Ford Escort look cute? Haha
