Would a 03 marauder differential fit a 97 town car?

I'm having some differential problems with grinding at low rpms and uphill so I'm looking to replace it, but I was hoping I could throw a diff from a mercury marauder in for that extra torque and to eliminate the ford one wheel drive dilemma. Would this be possible/cost effective?
