2013 Ford Mustang sport mode?

Hey guys. My mustang has a sport mode (S on the shifter column). And I have the option of manually shifting with the plus and minus buttons on the shifter. My question is do I have to manually shift? Or can I pop it into sport mode and drive it like an automatic? In other words can I drive it in sports mode without having to shift gears manually and have the car do it itself?
