Go kart! I need to build a cheap and fast go kart?

I want to make a go kart but I need that thing Togo fast! I m talking fast man! But I need it to be cheap and fast so I was wondering if I can use a car engine on it? I have an old ford windstar and a gnc trucked just parked in the back of my house that bit have been crashed but the engines work! I was wondering if that would work?
