Spilled A lot of oil need some help?

So went out to add oil to my truck, and like a dummy tried doing it with out a bottle. A pretty large amount did not make it in the hole and spilled all down the side of the engine, I wiped up as much as I could off the top where the oil fill is, but couldn't really get down around anything. Nothing hit the belt, and I'm almost positive nothing went in to anything important. Is this going to be ok to let burn off? I work nights and everything is closed when I get home and I normally sleep most of the day. I drive a 1997 ford ranger. So it can be known where the oil fill is and what is around it.
