Why do car manufacturers make their creeper cars so UGLY?!

I ve noticed cars like the Ford Focus, Chevy sonic, Ford Fiesta and other cheaper cars made by the US make their cheaper cars UGLY. But within the same companies you have the Mustang, Fusion and Camaro. They look nice. I can t imagine it s too expensive or too difficult to make the shape/ styling of the cheaper cars just as appealing. It s like they intentionally make the cheaper cars look like ****. It s mostly in the US car manufacturer market. Volkswagen s Beetle, Jetta, and Golf are all pretty stylish, the Honda Civic looks nice, and other foreign car manufacturers have cheap cars that are pretty stylish. Why does the USA struggle with making a decent looking cheap car? I don t get it!
