1994 Ford Taurus won't start?

So yesterday it rained really hard here. I was driving in the rain and my car started misfiring but then went back to running fine. Today I started it and it ran for about 30 second then started spitting and died. There was no water in the distributor cap and it looked fine. I noticed a couple spark plug wires were moist and the rubber was ripped so I replaced all the wires. I started it up again and it ran fine for about 10 seconds then died again. Now it won't start and barely fires. Any ideas?
