Minor wreck. What was leaking? Is it totaled?

So, last night a car stopped In the middle of the road so the Jeep in of me slammed on brakes, so I slammed on mine, but it was wet so I slid and smashed into the back of the Jeep. Anyways, I know I'll need a new hood, but since the Jeep is bigger than my 2004 Ford Taurus Se we went under her car. So the bumper is just fine. Airbags did not deploy on impact. Anyways, when I got out, I noticed that a bunch of stuff was leaking on the passenger side, and a lot of steam/smoke was coming out. The car was still running, and i could drive it forward, but I could not turn the steering wheel. So, what could the fluids be? Perhaps since I couldn't turn the wheel it was just steering fluid? And since the air bags didn't deploy does that means there is possibly no structural damage? Since it's a 2004, is it a total loss? Just trying to et an idea before my insurance starts doing estimates etc.
