Transmission filter wouldn t go in all the way, O rings wouldn t seal?
Ok so I replaced my transmission fluid and filter. The new filter was exactly the same as the old down to the last detail. I have a 1991 Ford Ranger. It has two holes with O rings around them you have to stick up in the bottom of the transmission with a bolt that goes on the middle to hold it in. I took the old one out which fit fine. I put the new one in and the to holes with the O rings wouldn t go all the way in on both sides. So i went ahead and out the screw in and tightened it down hoping it would bring it up enough to fit in but it didn t. So the two holes weren t sealed. I went ahead and out it back together and added the right amount of fluid and now the truck is shaking and vibrating more than it was before. Not really bad but enough to notice it s different. Is it because the filter isn t sealed and isnt sucking up enough fluid from the pan? Do I have to take it all apart again and try to get it to fit? I really don t want to but I will if I have to. Any info could help me thanks!
