Which auto company has a better quality in their cars, VOLKSWAGEN or FORD?

Currently in a college course where we are studying about operations excellence that is focused on consumer perception on QUALITY, RELIABILITY, and USER/DRIVER EXPERIENCE. Tell me more about the quality of both the exterior and the interior and a product that gives you less hassle in repairs, preetty much how people view an apple product (stable, reliable, and good looking, something that will get people to notice you).

P.S We shortlistedbig auto companies in to these 2 (by eliminating the japanese industry first) because mose people know how they are and they already make up a large part of the market. Consider both companies brand assets (audi, lincoln, bentley, etc.).
