Automatic car not selecting gears?

Its a 2005 ford focus 2.0 sedan
The gear lever moves but it doesnt change the gear. It remains on park even when i shift it to drive or any other gear. The gear lever also now feels abit loose and i can feel that its not seleting the gears. I recently changed the engin mountings so not sure if thats related somehow. Nothing seemed to brake, thers no funny noises.
