Ford escape stalling not throttle body?

I have a 09 Ford Escape xlt v6 3.0 and twice while driving up a hill it has stalled luckily not at high speeds. It s not the throttle body bc I replaced it 15k miles ago and when my car stalls it doesn t throw it into limp mode like the throttle body did. Lights come on the dash like they do when you have the key turned to accessory and I simply pop it into neutral and start it and keep on going like nothing ever happened
