1997 Ford Contour rear brake shoe adjustment?

I just recently replaced my rear brake shoes. Whenever I press my brake petal my back wheels continue to turn and I don't stop. My emergency/park brake does nothing as well. I need to adjust them but I haven't a clue how to.

Added (1). I read that they are self-adjusting on a few different sites now, however I tried backing up and stopping several times along with pulling the park brake up and down five or six times and I am still able to push my pedal all the way to the floor without any braking being done.
