Automatic car shifted to park while driving?

So I m almost positive my sister was and still is lying. A little more than 2 years ago my mom was getting a new car and she had promised to give me the keys to her 2001 Ford Escape XLT V6 3.0L for my senior year of high school. But before school started my sister was given the keys to get to work before she bought her own car. But she was pissed off that I was promised the keys. So this one time she claimed that she was driving and there was a red light and she tried to hit the brakes but they didn t work so she said she threw the car into park while driving at around 40mph to stop the car (not the E brake). Her and my dad drove the car to the mechanic to get looked at and they said that there wasn t anything wrong with the brakes. 2 years later, I ve never had any brake problems (knock on wood lol). She swears that she put it in park to stop and I m pretty sure she was just pissed that I was getting the car and she didn t want me to have it and it s not like it s a fantastic car or anything. It s a 2001 Ford Escape with 210,000 miles. I love this car, I even turned it into a Zombie Mobile lol anyways, what do you think about her claim? I think she s lying.
