What are some good subwoofers and amps?

I am a bit of a bass-head/audiophile. This means that I love to feel the bass, but like a full range of sound. I want the subwoofer to blend well once I replace my factory speakers with better quality ones.

I was recommended a ported box. I don't need window shattering sound, but I like to see my mirror vibrate. Hearing a clear low response (say below 30z that feels stress relieving) is very valuable to me.

Requirements
-Durable (withstands up to like 120 db on occasion and almost no distortion)
-Two 12" unless recommended something else
-Fits in a Ford Ranger's rear interior
-Around $1000 or less unless convinced to go higher

I heard good things about: Rockford Fosgate, MTX Terminator, and Bose
