Hi problem with my motor is the output of the alternator. My car died a few nights ago and i suspected bad alternator( It has a brand new battery) . I had the alternator tested and auto electrician informed me it was alright. After installing everything back together, cleaning as much earths as i could see and making sure the belt is tight i checked the voltage across the battery while car running. It read 11.4. Car off it reads 12.0. No battery light is on ignition and no engine management light. Any ideas what could be wrong? Could the autoelectrician be wrong and the alternator is infact faulty? Surely battery light would be on?
This has me puzzled but perhaps someone with experience can help answer this problem. Thanks
