How much do/SHOULD used tires typically cost? For a Ford Escape?

buying a used ford escape 2002, it needs new tires to pass safety. Girl selling it said she found a "good deal" for 300 for the set of 4 tires. I find that price seemingly high. But i dont know much, ive never bought a car before this is my first vehicle! Someone please help me out!
