I have a 1985 ford f:250 that died on me this morning?

i plugged a light into my cigarette lighter outlet and the truck just died. Nothing is working. Its just dead. The battery has power. I checked that. But literaly nothing has power to it. The lights dont even work.
any ideas on what this might be?
