Ford focus 1.4 zetec engine hesitates?

when driving in a straight line the car drives fine, but when it comes to slowing down to make a left or right turn the car tends to hesitate or judder,, as if the fuel pump is loosing pressure or the gas tank is running low. Have replaced the filter and given the car a service. But still same problem.
