What do i do to show no responsibility of vehicle once i sell?

I bought an 06 ford focus zx4 in 2014 runs good but does need smog and inspection done i got it in california when i lived there… But the price for the part it needed to get fixed to pass smog was to high so never got to register it in my name… So im gona be selling it… However im now in phoenix and if i sold it how do i make myself not reliable, what paper work can i print out from dmv to sell car and what are the state of phoenix arizonas regulations when selling a car from california. Any help would be great
