Should this woman be compensated?


While driving down the highway, her airbags in her 2004 Ford Explorer suddenly inflate. Luckily, she was able to pull over safely, and no one was hurt. But, her insurance will not cover the cost of repairing and replacing the airbags because it wasn't an accident, and a malfunction instead. So she wants Ford to pay the cost. Ford has stated they want her to sign a release to allow them to have the data from the vehicle, so they can review and find out what happened. She refuses, and still demands that Ford pay.

Is she entitled to any compensation from Ford for the malfunction?
