What do you think the feature hold for diesel engines ONLY FOR PEOPLE THAT KNOW ABOUT TRUCKS?!

if in 2003 ford had to quick making the 7.3 cause of the smoke and with the 2015 6.7 is so far upgraded it wont smoke unless you put straight pipes on it. What do you guys thing the future holds for diesel engines I ask this cause lately there have been ads about flying cars and crap like that but what do you think will happen from now till the next 35 years do you think diesel engines will no longer be around cause of the pollution they put off or do you think they might get more popular and start bringing back some of the older engines?
