Car Problems. Engine light.help?!

I have an 06 Ford Taurus. My check engine light is on and I got it checked its a cylinder 6 miss fire. It doesn't tell me the exact problem but the car putters when starting and when trying too move forward after stopping at a light etc. But runs fine otherwise. I cannot afford much so was hopeing to figure out problem before getting serviced.
