Can Ford tell if a car has been clocked?

The latest Fords, (fiesta Focus and Mondeo) can apparent;y be clocked quite easily. However, I think the mileage is stored in the ECU so isn't it possible for Ford to see the correct mileage of a car, despite the oddometer showing a different mileage?
