Is my truck 4-Wheel Drive and if so how do I turn it on?

This may sound like a dumb question but I just recently got a 1995 Ford F-150 xl and it never crossed my mind that it would be four wheel drive. Howver today when I was driving it i noticed that a little to the right of the spedometer there was a spot that said 4x4 but it wasnt glowing. I looked all over the place for a spot where the switch or lever might be but found nothing. Any help would be greattly appreciated.
