Ok. So this is for all you mechanic type of guys?

I just bought a 2000 Ford Taurus SE. Same day I bought it I had to buy a brand new battery. And it s has 2700997 miles on it. Transmission seems to be slipping. I didnt pay a lot for it but If tranny is going then thats going to be worth more than the car is actually worth. Was wondering if i should just sell It or junk it and get my money back out of it. It has brand new tires but I don t know. What do you think? I need help making a descision.
