Why did my battery die after 3 days of not using the car?

It s a 2006 Ford Explorer 4.0 v6 engine.
I drove it to auto zone after jump starting it and leaving it on for about 20 minutes and the guy in the store said my alternator is good and my battery is good. I have a second battery in the back that I haven t changed in about 4 years but it s not puffy or leaking it s a kinetic 800 hc can it be that it s draining my battery while it s off

Added (1). When I turn the car on, it makes a loud noise. I hear the noise all throughout when I'm driving. When I'm at slow speeds, I dont' really hear the noise. Also, the car vibrates also. I feel it especially in the gas pedal. Not sure whats wrong/. Ford told me it was a motor mount and a mechanic said the exhaust needed to be changed. I did both and I still hear the noise and feel the vibration. What could be wrong? I'm running out of possibilities

I recently fell in love with two cars. Im not really very informed on how cars work, never had a dad to teach me and never cared as a youngin. The two cars i want are the 1968 Ford Bullitt and the 1968 Shelby gt500. How much will it cost to buy one of these. With no experience in cars, no way im going to buy part by part and build this car. I dont care if its super fast or not i just want it to sound and run good. Why do new cars look so ugly?

I can understand aerodynamics and being cheap about it and such, but by god do new cars look ugly. It's like every car that I see, the makers seem like they want to make the car look pissed off with those cheap plastic headlights that go from the grill to the windshield. And on top of that, everything looks like an egg; no solid lines. And to make things worse, there is no chrome anywhere, just plastic, aluminum, and more plastic… Japan, Europe, and America seem to match this description pretty fairly because every car that they make has these things(every time as if, almost)

It seems like as the decades go on, cars seem to favor mothers who have children. Those odd looking SUV's that I laugh when I see one on the road(the Kia's, Honda's, Hyundai's, Honda's, Chevrolet's, Ford's,Chrysler's, etc.) seem to be what the rage is(Typical for the decade). I'd rather it be the 20's-60's where no seat belts exist and shiny polished white-wall rim tired cars where the talk of the town. So much better. No electric windows that will short out and you have to tear the door off to fix it, no automatic transmissions for lazy people, no touch-to-open tailgates with your foot nonsense, no cheaply made anything. Just good old fashion classy cars that where made with pride, care, and appreciation, and they will last a long time for many people to enjoy.

You wont see any of that today… Sadly…

Ford focus mk1 central locking. UK?

I have an x reg mk1 focus, I've always had to use the key as the fob always locks the car then automatically unlocks again. My issue is now the drivers side door won't let me turn the key properly to lock the car manually and it only locks the passenger door if I lock it from the other side. The lock on the inside is completely seized up too. Feels as though it is jammed. Any help? Uk

About 2 days ago our Ford EL Falcon GLI developed a problem with its transmission where there was a shudder and slow acceleration during start and stop operations in severe traffic and eventual transmission oil overflow.

The transmission now runs normally after cooling down.

What am I expecting to pay for my car insurance?

I do have a car yet but I will definitely have the money to buy my first on the 18th (and man am I too excited). But I know insurance is a must unless I plan to go to jail, so how much am I expecting to pay. The car I am looking at is a Used 96 Ford Contour GL from a dealership, which might be gone when I can buy it but lets use this for now. I'm an 18 y/o female (biologically) and got my license in May after my 1st try. Usually drove my granma car with no issues and I'm on her insurance currently, so is it even possible to just switch over the info to my own vehicle? I live in a pretty okay city and am a college student living in the dorms until May when I'm leaving for an apt.

What could cause a knocking sound under the hood of a car?

I just bought a used 2013 Ford fiesta last month from a dealership. Yesterday, I did a 3hr trip to visit my gf in west Virginia. I pulled off the freeway, because I felt like I was lost. GPS wasn t helping me at all. So, I m going like 25mph and I notice the knocking sound under the hood. It sounds like it s coming from the driver side of the car. I still visited my gf, but I was cautious all the way home. I only hear it when I first start up the car and at low speeds. When I go above 10mph I can t hear it at all. I got an appointment with a mechanic for Friday, but I work all this week and I m making another trip to west Virginia on Wednesday. Is it safe to drive or is this something serious?

I bought a used car from Carmax. I got their full coverage, but I got to pay $300 for their deductible. But at ford, the make of my car, my car is still coverd under the factory warranty. I need multiple things done to my car. Wheel bearings, brakes, air filter, Microsoft sync firmware update, and an oil change. Can I get that stuff done? I can t find what the rules of the coverage. How much do you think I can buy this used car for (how to negotiate)?

Hello, this beautiful great condition 2005 Lincoln town car has been on the lot at my local ford/Lincoln dealership for about 3 months now. It has 110k miles on it and has a sunroof, back up sensors and chrome trim. The car is absolutely stunning, only thing is that there s a tiny mark on the rear bumper. It is $8000 (average price) but I asked for the car fax and this is where it got a little more iffy.

It was a rental car for 10 months (though I doubt someone would thrash a luxury rental car). Then with the second owner it was in a minor accident (no structural damage according to the report). Also it being on the lot for 3 months makes me wonder if it is worth the $8,000 price tag at all! But on the positive note it has been religiously services at the dealership throughout the second owner.

Do you think if I ask $5,000 they will take it? Does it being a formal rental and being in a accident lower its value greatly?

Will A FOXBODY Mustang Convertible leek if it's sitting out in the Sun without being in the garage?

okay I'm a huge Fox Body Mustang Fan and sometimes I think about buying a Ford Mustang foxbody with an automatic transmission. I live within the southern united States (aprox. Tallahassee Florida) the problem is I see Fox Body Mustangs with a convertible style equipped with an automatic transmission why I mostly all the notchbacks and hatchback Mustang foxbody are all 5 speed manuals and I am NOT a 5-speed manual person (just because I think it's complicated and I don't like changing gears; most of this is true because Fox Body Mustang with the hatchback or notchback body style are extremely rare and a generally I never seen at all anymore). My house also does not have a garage and my mom tells me foxbody Mustang convertibles will leak if they're not garage kept. Since my house is not have a garage and most of the Fox Body Mustangs with a automatic transmission are all of convertibles, will they leak if they're not garage kept.

94 Ford Ranger clicking noise?

Alright so i have a 94 Ford Ranger and today it started making a continuous clicking noise in the back right tire while driving. It would stop when the truck was stopped. Well after driving on it for a bit the noise started making a higher pitched noise. I was just trying to get home so i kept going. Then it stopped all of a sudden and i noticed something fall out from under my truck. I couldn t find the pieced but i know nothing was driving before the higher pitched noise started. Any ideas on what it is? I know im being very vague but i m not sure on how to explain it. After it came off it made no more noises. I plan having my mechanic look at it tomorrow when i have my tires replaced but its bugging me. I can provide other details if needed.

Would I get a refund for a false diagnosis on my car?

I had a squeal coming from my car and I was never confident it was correct. I got charged £70 for them to make the diagnosis it was my exhaust manifold gasket and I declined them repairing it and took it to another garage. The garage asked if I had my auxiliary belt changed recently, I said yes, and try said the steering wasn't put back properly when I had it done. This then damaged my car. Ford said they'd pay for it to be repaired as they messed up.

As for the diagnosis, should I also ask for the £70 back from that. It was a week before I got it looked at elsewhere.

Is it weid that I'm not interested in having a fast or sporty car?

I'm a 17 year old male. I've noticed other people my age want something fast like a Camaro or Corvette. Or they want something really fancy like a Mercedes or BMW. Or trucks and SUVs like Jeep Wrangler, Escalade, Range Rover or an off road pickup. The cars students drive range from beat up old Saturns, Chevy Cavaliers, Civics and pickup trucks all the way to brand new Toyotas. My one friend has an Infiniti G35. Sure I want a car like a Mustang but, I'd rather drive that in summer and nice weather. I'll drive a truck or SUV in winter. I don't really want some high end car. I'd be happy with an old truck, SUV or van. I have an old rusty truck that I drive. Is it weird that I don't want some fast car or sports car?

I have an Edge Juice EJF2100, Date of Manufacture 1/11/2005, it is on a 1999 Ford F-350 7.3l Powerstroke. When I bought the truck all the wiring was good, but when I picked it up, the wiring was cut coming from the Edge Programmer. There are 9 wires that I need to know where they go. They are Red, White, Red with a white stripe, black, green, light green or tealish blue, Blue, Light brown, and brown. If anyone can help me, it would be great, all the sensors and the wiring to the controller, and the temp sending unit are all still in tact. I can provide pictures if needed. I would assume that one would be keyed hot, one constant hot, one ground but that still leaves 6 that I don't know where to go with. Thank you

Engine stops while stepping on the accelerator?

This only happens when I come from my long travel like 1-2 hours. I reach this upward part of a road and when I tried to pass/over-take a car while accelerating the engine suddenly stops and I wait for about 1-2 min then I start the engine again, already happened 3 times. Nothing lights up on the dash board and this does not happen when I use my car for my daily commute passing through the same upward road. Any suggestions? Thanks.

so the other day I sat in a 1995 Ford Mustang convertible (4th generation Mustang) and a few months ago I was sitting in the passenger seat of my cousins Chevrolet Camaro. Both cars are pretty low to the ground and I'm a very big guy. I couldn't fit properly and both the Mustang and the Camaro in their fourth generations. Now I was at a muscle car show and I sat in a 1994 - 1998 Ford Mustang. I also saw a 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner. Now I said in the Mustang and it was very small for a big guy like me to fit in. I guess the Fox Body Mustangs and the fourth generation (1994-1998) Mustangs are the same size as a Camaro (I sat in my cousins Camaro before and it was in the same story like the Mustang). Its a Plymouth Roadrunner bigger than a Mustang and a Camaro from the 1980's and 1990's and is the 1980s and 1990s Mustang the same height and size similar to the Camaro.

Can someone tell me the symptoms of the map sensor going bad?

ive had a few people to tell me that my map sensor may be bad but i put a code reader on it and it showed up ignition control module but i changed that and ran some fuel system cleaner through it and my truck still does alot better now, i can drive it for an hour and it doesn't start shaking and missing horribly now but the engine speed lopes when its idling or you hold it at a constant speed in park, i think this started after i got a guy to clean my throttle body out for me, could that have messed anything up?

Car Problems.Overheating and Speedometer?

I just recently bought a 98 ford escort zx2. I was driving it and noticed it started to overheat. It doesn t have a number on my gage but it was about 3/4 of the way up, well over half way. Also, my radiator fan does not turn on by itself unless I turn the A/C on. I replaced the relay and temperature sensor, neither have helped. Why would my radiator fan not turn on?

I know my mechanic said I have a leak in my radiator. He is going to replace that but he doesn t know why my fan won t turn on.

I also noticed my speed odometer is wrong. I used a couple phone apps, and it s off by about 8mph. And my cruise control doesn t work. Would this be the cause of a faulty vehicle speed sensor?

Average cost to install a Pioneer FHX820BS radio into a 2005 Ford Escape LTD?

I'm getting a Pioneer FHX820BS radio for my daughter's 2005 Ford Escape LTD for a Christmas present. What's the average cost to install these? I've read online they made need to modify the sub dashboard to allow for the double din radio to fit and it'll need a double din mounting kit. So about how much will that all cost? I'm not going to even try to do it myself even if it saves time or money.

I have an 06 Ford Taurus SE and I just put a new motorblower fan in so it can have heat again this winter. And it worked fine on the way home. And now its next problem is that when I left my place an hour after my friends place all the lights went dark even my cars headlights. The raido sounded off too. And when I got a block a away I can feel the Ford jump forward a lot since it was slowly dying then I noticed that my battery check light popped on and when I made it to my driveway all lights went out and its now sittinf dead amd don t know what to do. A friend says its my alternator is shot but not entirely sure.

Should I put money into a 1995 ford ranger?

I am a teenage boy and my stepdad is giving me his ranger. He is the original owner of the truck and knows everything about the truck while keeping it in perfect condition. He has a commute to work everyday so he has put A LOT of miles on it. To be exact, 350,000. He just got done putting in a new clutch for it and a bunch of other stuff. Basically whenever something breaks down on it, he will fix it within a week or so. The engine its self is original but everything around it like fuel pump, carborator, etc have all been replaced. My intentions for that car is to get a new stereo system, nice off road tires and rims, cheap paint job, and maybe a 3 inch lift to make it sit better. I don t know if that s a waste of money for that truck. Also if I were to want to get a new car, I would have to drive that for like 6 months then get another car. I really like the 4x4 look so my car would most likely be a truck or a jeep Cherokee. I would like to go mudding so that s why I would need the accessories. Also the ford ranger is 2wd not 4wd. So, what should I do?

Added (1). Took off both heater hose lines and both have coolant flowing out of them. I think this is an issue but what is the cause?
Added (2). Thermostats seem ok. Coolant is full. Engine reaches normal operation temps of 180 range.
Added (3). Heater core is not restricted. The key here is I have hot coolant flowing out of BOTH heater lines going to the heater core. Should only have coolant flowing from one of them.

Can I lie to my Car Insurance company?

So day I was being a dumbass and tried to drift on an icy road in my FWD 2003 Ford Taurus. I ended up spinning 360 into a snow bank and hitting my right rear tire on it, bending it in toward the car. It is drive-able but likely totaled. When I file for a quote on my car, can I say that my car broke traction, under-steered, then ran into the curb on the right side when It tried to turn right?
Added (1). Also, will my insurance rates go up a lot (could you give me an estimate, because I'm quite sure they will go up regardless) since I was the only vehicle involved, nobody was injured, and no property was damaged?

I was told by my cousin that there's probably 10 things along with suspension issues wrong with my car at this point.
Added (2). But nobody would know is the thing… It really does just look like I slammed into the side of the curb while out of control, which is exactly what happened. The only difference is that I was being a dumbass rather than what I would say to the insurance company which is that I under-steered while turning onto the road and then couldn't regain traction when swerving to the right. Am I wrong for thinking I'm clever? Will there really be a full-fledged investigation on such a matter?

1991 Ford ranger 2.3L

The shifter swings out to the side. It shifts fine but the shifter can freely move around even when it's in gear.

The aftermarket stereo stays on even when the ignition is off. All other accessories turn off but the stereo stays on.

The only way to turn the ignition off is to hit a little button on top of the steering column to get the key to turn off.

The car takes a long time to start. You have to lay on the starter for about 15-20 seconds before the engine cranks.

Somebody has graciously let me borrow their car in my time of need and I don't have the money to take it to a mechanic but I've been known to rectify some simple issues before and would like to return it in better condition than I got it.

Should I get a Challenger or f150?

I'm very torn between a 2015 challenger RT 5.7 hemi stick shift, Or a 2015 Ford F-150 XLT.

I love the speed, muscle and the fun of a car and going fast 40mph rolls racing.

But I also love trucks lifting them. They looking tough and just the feeling of driving a truck.

Very hard decision for me.

Electric Windows will only work from the the drivers side.
I checked the wiring within the doors and repaired any broken wires but still nothing.
The drivers switch has a child lock for the window but this doesn t make a difference if on or off.

Is the anything els I can check?
Could it be the drivers switch at fault?

So I recently submitted some photos to ford models and they responded requesting more photos taken outside in natural light and with certain poses and attire. The only problem is that school work and daylight savings make this incredibly hard to do. It will take me at least 2-3 days before I have the time to respond, does this look bad? I'm thinking about getting a 2000 Ford Explorer Limited as my next car. I like the Limited over any of the other trim packages. I don't mind the privacy glass that came standard on the Limited. I think it would look really good without the privacy glass. The base model had clear windows all the way around. I was thinking of getting the rear windows from the base model. Is my vehicle at risk of CO poisoning?!

I have a 2002 Ford F150. The exhaust sounds terrible and I've been told that the right manifold needs fixing. Is my vehicle at risk of CO building up in it if I have all the windows up? This concerns me a bit as we are entering winter and obviously I can't have the windows down. It's an old truck with lots of rust so I'm concerned that exhaust could leak into the vehicle. When I take the starter off, It does engage when I jump start it. The truck is a 1986 Ford Bronco. 5.0 Motor. I've tried putting a new ground from the battery to the engine. I also took the starter autozone and they tested it and said it was good. Any advice is appreciated.

Will an auto-broker take back a used car if it was sold AS-IS?

Nearly two months ago I had to make an emergency buy on a new used car after my ford took it's last drive. I got it on a lein and owe less than 1500 on it. However, ever since I drove that car off the lot it has been giving me nothing but grief. It is one thing after another and the dealer claimed it was in great shape and a clean history. I believed him because the times I did test drive it it ran alright. I found out later just how neglected this car was. I had my father in law take a look and he can tell the spark plugs have probably never been replaced. It has a few serious problems with the cooling system and more. I can not affor to take it to a mechanic, pay the bill every month, and pay the insane full-coverage insurance for it. Bying it was a mistake and it is sucking me dry. It has gotten to the point where I dont even care if I get a refund. I just want this POS PT Cruiser out of my life!
Any ideas? What options do I have?

Hi everyone I have a 1996 Ford Crown Victoria. Lately my car will slow down to a halt and the power steering will stop working. The battery light will come on as well. I was thinking it could be the belt but I don't think the belt would have to do with my gas pedal would it? Also if I put my car in park after this happens I just restart my car and it just works normally. Luckily this has only happened 3 times in the last month and only when I'm slowing down. Although this is definitely something to be concerned about. Hopefully we can figure this out. Thanks everyone.

Engine Light on newly owned Ford Fusion fwd 2016?

I just got this car 2 months ago. I have noticed a small slight problem with the car though. The only literal problem i can think of is usually when you push the gas on a car it should just go forward. With this car i recently noticed that when i push the gas sometimes it goes alittle then feels like it stopped for a very brief milisecond then continues like it should. Thats the only noticeable problem i can think of. I have heard people talking about how the gas cap can be a problem if cracked or loose. But the my ford doesnt have one. So that rules out that one problem there. So if any mechanic or someone with a FORD FUSION FWD 2016 has had this problem please let me know what it could be and how i can fix it. Thanks again.

I want to both move out, and save for a car. I'm thinking of just a ford focus, nothing expensive and difficult.

My gf wants to move too, and she's looking for a second job so moving isn't going to be impossible.

Out of a paycheck for full time minimum wage Canada Ontario, how much should I set aside for a car? I'm not sure how much to set aside each pay.

Also probably going to want to set money aside for a house, how much per pay should I set aside for that as well?

Theres so much I want to do, and my parents and school have not taught me this.

I am getting a new car this weekend. I have been searching around since last week and came across two car lots, one finances ( the one with the dodge avenger ) and one is a buy here pay here. ( dodge caliber ) out of my whole life ( im 21 ) ive had Two chevy impalas, a chrysler, and a ford 500. Which was all good cars not much work needed to be done at all. But now i am looking for a new car I've always liked the dodge avenger and have been wanting one. But came past the Dodge Caliber and i like that as well it has many features great sound system etc i read alot about that. But was doing research on the caliber and read good and bad reviews on it. Some says its a good car some said it has too many problems had to replace too many things etc. I want to know which car would be better as far as maintenance wise, gas mileage wise, etc. I sure dont want to waste my money on something and have it break down along the road. Is a very bloated stomach a sign of stomach cancer?

I work out regularly including cardio and weights but my stomach seems to be getting bigger.
My doctor said it's just my body shape but it never used to be this way. It's getting so blatantly obvious something is wrong. I have fit legs and arms and back but this huge stomach.
I was wondering if it could be a tumour, since they are extremely difficult to find. Should I call a oncologist or some other specialist for tests?
Added (1). @April The problem is if my doctor doesn't believe there's a problem then how can I get a referral to an oncologist?! I have to get in somehow?

Need a shift solenoid replaced on 2005 ford taurus?

I have a 2005 ford taurus. Engine light is on and occasionally comes on the led screen saying check transmission. I had it checked out and was told the shift solenoid was going bad. Mechanic said he would let me know how much it would be and stuff. I ve already ordered the part and everything. My issue is that I m not hearing from the mechanic now and can t get in touch with any other mechanics. I called a shop and was told that replacing only that part would be a waste of time and that we should just go ahead and get a whole new transmission (is this just fishing for money on someone who doesnt know cars?) I was planning on getting a new car in a few months anyway so theres no way I m putting 1200 into this one (it was used, i only paid 2000, has not sentimental value or anything so just not worth it to me). How long will the car last without this part being replaced, how much would it run me to get that part replaced and if i do get it replaced, is it just gonna be having trouble again in a month).

@ANDRE L i have calculated all of the expenses (including insurance and fuel) for each of these cars and i make more than enough to be able to own them. I'm not interested in a Ford Focus or an "older economy car" otherwise i would've listed it above

Reliability of a 1990 ford f150?

I wrecked my old car and am buying a new car at the end of December when my house is done being built and my credit opens up. I needed a car to get to work for 2 months so i bought a 1990 f150 for $1000 to get me threw 2 months, so far it has driven fine, if i sit still for too long it starts to stutter and sometimes stalls in reverse if i leave it sitting, i was wondering what the chances are of it making it threw 2 months

My '64 Ford Fairlane obviuously has a fan in the engine. However, the guy we bough it from built a whole new engine so the fan is run by -manually- connecting the fan wires to the car battery. Does anybody know how/what I need to do? Thanks:)

Dual or single exhaust? And what muffler?

I have a 2007 Ford F150 with a Triton v8 engine. Currently it has a single exhaust on it and i'm not sure what muffler or if its stock or not. I am going to be upgrading it soon, and i'm not very educated in the field of mechanics. I want this puppy to be really loud, but nothing illegal or gross sounding. I want that loud, crisp sound of the V8 to really come out when i drive it. Should i go with dual or single exhaust? And what muffler should i go with? Also straight exhaust or turn up by the wheel? What would look best on the truck? Thanks and i will award best answer very quickly.

Is there anything wrong with filing the front brake pad ears?

Just curious as I've already done it to one pad. I had already did some research and found that it is commonplace to do so. Just looking for more opinions before continuing further.

Basically, I bought some brake pads and they barely fit with the old clips, and absolutely wouldn't go on with the new clips. There wasn't a lot of rust or corrosion either. I did take a metal brush with some brake cleaner and tried to clean out the bracket and the old clips.Still no luck, even with the new clips.

I drive a 2004 ford Explorer 4.6l AWD/4WD and the pads are Duralast Gold Ceramic Brakes for the front axel. I didn't finish the job as I ran into this issue. I've filed down the ears off of one pad just enough to remove the "paint" or coating. Will try it out in a couple days when it warms back up.

Added (1). Just wanted to give advance that I do know that removing material off the ears makes it vulnerable to rust and corrosion. I've heard that brake grease will take care of that. These bakes are merely temporary until next summer when I can afford higher quality brakes.
Added (2). One more update. THEY ARE THE CORRECT PADS. I'VE TAKEN THEM BACK TWICE TO TWO DIFFERENT PARTS STORES AND THEY ARE A MATCH TO MY MAKE, MODEL, ENGINE, AND DRIVETRAIN.

Do I have to add the finance price to the listing price?

So I am currently looking online for a car. I saw that there is a 2012 Ford Focus available and the list price is $13,409. However, under the list price it says the finance price is $6,998. I'm not sure if that means that that will be the price of the vehicle if I finance? Or do I have to add the listing price and the finance price together and that would be an estimate of the amount I would pay when I'm done financing the vehicle?

What is the biggest size tires that I can fit onto my 2015 Ford F-150 18 wheels?

I apologize if this may be a common question on forums, but I'm new to trucks and the answers vary so widely.
I own a 2015 Ford F-150 XLT SuperCrew, and I was hoping to get larger all-terrain tires. I was planning on either getting the NITTO Terra Grappler G2s or the BF Goodrich KO2s. I currently have a leveling kit on my truck, so that should give me a bit more clearance on going up a few tire sizes. I was told by some F-150 company workers and they said that the biggest size would be 285/60-18. Is this true? Also, could I get away with going up to 285/65-18's or would that cause rubbing?

Lastly, which of the two brands of tires would you recommend for overall quality?

Added (1). I came across suggestions of getting 35x12.5-18 tire. Would this size tire work, or would that rub? If it were to rub, how much trimming would need to be done for it to fit properly?

Inherited a car don't know what to do with my other car?

So my grandpa passed away about a month ago. He left what he had left to my grandma, my aunts, uncles, and cousins. He left me his 2012 Honda Accord. Im really honored as we always talked about cars in general and I helped him pick out this car. He had financed it and had GAP insurance on it and since he's now gone the car is mine free and clear.

The problem is I am so emotionally attached to his car that I must keep it and drive it forever (I mean its a Honda with only 12,000 miles). I also have a car of my own that I've financed about a year ago (2014 Ford Focus). I feel that I should sell my car but I can't because its not paid off. I also can't drive both cars. I do have a best friend who lives in a different state for work but doesn't have a car, can I give her my financed car and just pay the car note still? Im so confused!

while self driving cars might exist, I don't think they are going to rapidly take over in the 2020s, and just because google and other companies made prototypes doesn't mean they are going to be mass marketed as consumer products much like how plenty of flying cars have been made but we have yet to actually own one the same way we own a typical holden or ford car.

and come one 5 years is not far at all, look at the past 8 years and things are pretty much the same besides having some newly released phones and movies and so fourth.

in my opinion I do not think that self driving cars are going to take the world be storm anytime soon, I am not saying they will never happen for all you know your grandpa's childhood dream of a nuclear powered cars and vaccum cleaners might happen but self driving cars are not going to take over anytime soon since everyday people still drives old bombs from the 80s and dont bother buying any modern cars to begin with.

also I am sick of smart @rse bureaucrats claiming their immaculate machines will never get into any accidents or incidents are so much better than humans, how about being in a immaculate self driving aeroplane with android flight attendants then all of a sudden the operating system freezes and there is no pilot to take over in a emergency through manual controls, what would happen you may ask? It would stay in the air for a while until it goes of courses and everyone would probably die.

Why does my keyless remote entry/alarm reset itself?

I have a 2002 ford mustang. I have to program the remote to the cars factory alarm system every time. It will only stay programmed for an hour or less. It is not the remote because I've tested it on another ford vehicle and the battery is still good. Also the theft light sometimes stays on and sometimes it will blink.

Help diagnosing 2002 ford mustang v6 3.8l?

Check engine light comes on and off not simultaneously. One day it will be one, and next time i crank it the light is off for days. The battery, abs and trac off light stays on though. Even though the check engine light is off i can tell something is wrong because the car doesn t drive like when i first got it. When i take off for speed it feels heavy like it lags and feels like its pulling back. Sometimes with my foot off the pedal it ll pull back then push itself like shifting. Another thing i noticed is that after 80 miles it shakes a bit. That s all i can think off. If you need more info let me know.

I was driving home from work last night in my 01 Ford Tauras. I was maybe 5 minutes from home when my headlights went full and were flashing. My blinkers were full and were faster than normal. When I came to a stop the car had almost died when I accelerated. My question is that is there something severely wrong with my car or do I just need a new battery?

Are 1949 Chrysler Crown Imperials good cars?

I want to buy an old car where I live and an old man is selling one. It comes stock and it does not have the original seats. The engine is stock as well. It looks fairly in good shape except for a few rust spots(no rust holes). I was wondering if it was a good car to have? I don't know if it starts. I'm not looking to restore it but I could when I get a little money. I was planning on trading a non-running but could be fixed to run 1994 Ford Pickup, a Yamaha 4-wheeler(don't know the year) and a 1919 Ford model T engine for it. Will this be enough to buy it? Is it worth it or am I biting off more than I can chew. BTW, it's my first car if I get it. I love old cars and I want one(1900's to 1950's mostly) or could there be an alternative cheaper old car that some of you guys may have?(1900's-1950's?)

1993 ford ranger stx help?!

Okay so im 17 and my truck is a 1993 ford ranger 4.0 motor automatic 4x4. So recently my truck was making whistling noise but it wasnt loud like i could barely hear it, so i didn't think anything of it but now i dont hear the noise and now my truck idles rough like when i start it it just wants to stall out while idling. It will rev up and down by its self. But if i but it in gear and go down the road it will kinda bog out like loss of power but right after like 15, 25 mph it runs fine until i slow down or come to a complete stop than it will start to idle rough again. I just replaced the fuel filter and it didnt help. There is no check engine light either. So does anyone have an idea what it might be? Thanks

How to avoid emissions testing?

I have a 2006 Ford Mustang Gt, completely built up with every aftermarket part you could think of, but it didn't pass emissions due to not having cats or o2 sensors running, it would cost $3000+ to get it running legally, I'm in northern Illinois. Do I have any options? Are there any ways of selling this car if it won't pass? Could I maybe sell it to my mom (I live with her) and buy me another year until I go to college which will be a place without emissions testing. Any other options are appreciated!

1991 Suburban or 1987 Ford F250 6.9 IDI?

I m looking for a new truck, it would be my first truck and second vehicle.

I have a friend that is selling his 1991 Suburban 2500 for around $1500, it has the fuel injected 350 and around 189k miles

I m also looking into getting a 1987 Ford F250 with the 6.9 IDI diesel, the prices I have found for some near me is around $1500-$2000

Which of these would be a better choice for a second vehicle? I know neither will get very good gas mileage, though the diesel will get better mpg than the gas 350 but, how about towing capability? I won t need to tow anything massive, probably nothing more than like a flatbed with 2-3 ATV s on it, but I d like to have the capability to tow something should the need arise, how would the Suburban fare against the F250?

Don t start a Ford vs Chevy flame war either please, I know people can be very passionate about these things, I personally prefer Chevy but after driving my dad s 1999 F350 7.3 I have grown more fond of Ford.

While doing that is see a sliding electrical switch on the bottom of the steering column which works in conjunction with the shift lever. What does this switch do?

Ford focus roll back issue?

I took my focus into the dealership (its an automatic) because of dangerous roll back on hills (between 6-10 feet). I was told that it is Normal for the car to roll back and they sent me away. I have had the car a year and have had several instances where the car nearly rolls into the car behind me. Would I be at fault in an accident? Could I sue ford if im found to be at fault? Im really worried about rolling into another car.

Added (2). the car rolls back usually when i am at a stop and begin to accelerate. I give the car gas but the transmission wont engage. I usually end up peeling out when the transmission finally grabs. I have had 5 automatic cars and ive never had this happen before. Even modern standard transmissions are made with an anti roll back feature.
Added (3). To all you people suggesting holding my brake with one foot and the gas with another, my grandmother actually failed the drivers test because they said you cant drive an automatic with two feet. And as i said, even manual cars dont roll back anymore.
